Great Mounting Brackets

Great mounting brackets for roof racks! It’s a great mounting alternative for awnings. I installed them with my new OVS Nomadic 6 Awning. Original Awning screws weren’t long enough so, bought and inch longer screws in home depo. Very easy to install. Highly recommend

Mounting an awning with a roof basket can indeed be challenging, but using an adapter like the ADF Awning adapter can simplify the process. Here's a general guide on how to mount an awning with a roof basket using the ADF Awning adapter:

  1. Verify Compatibility: Ensure that the ADF Awning adapter is compatible with your specific awning model. As mentioned, it should work with most awnings, including popular brands like Free Sprite Recreation and CVT Awnings.

  2. Check Roof Rack Fitment: Confirm that your roof rack has the necessary vertical crossbars for mounting the awning adapter. Refer to the dimensions provided by the manufacturer to ensure proper fitment. Measure your roof rack to verify compatibility.

  3. Assemble the Adapter: Follow the instructions provided by ADF for assembling the awning adapter. This typically involves attaching brackets or clamps to the vertical crossbars of your roof rack.

  4. Attach the Awning: Once the adapter is assembled, place your awning onto the adapter. The adapter should provide secure mounting points for the awning.

  5. Measure the Track Slot: Before selecting hardware for mounting your awning, measure the track slot on the awning itself. This measurement is crucial for determining the size and type of hardware needed to securely attach the awning to the adapter and roof basket.
  6. Secure the Awning: Use the provided hardware (such as bolts or screws) to secure the awning to the adapter. Make sure the awning is firmly attached and there is no wobbling or movement.

  7. Test Stability: Before hitting the road, give the mounted awning a gentle shake to ensure it's securely attached to the roof rack. Make any necessary adjustments to ensure stability.

By following these steps and using the ADF Awning adapter, you should be able to mount your awning to your roof basket with relative ease. Always refer to the specific instructions provided by the manufacturer for the best results.
