Installed the 60D hardness insert with a fresh OEM transmission mount and my 2012 Outback 3.6R shifts like new again, quietly, without the awful clunk it had started to make when going from park to reverse (and sometimes from a stop). Imperceptible change in NVH so that’s great. Well worth the hour of work. Part fits securely, do recommend a small amount of WD-40 to slide it in. If ADF ever makes a small grille light mount for the Outback I’ll buy it to go with the ditch lights and skidplates :D Cheers
I bought a new (oem) mount and the 60A insert, and with minimal effort and a bit of grease, it easily slid in. It took a little prying to get the cradle up high enough for the bolts to grab as this is now stiffer and doesn't have as much squish to it. I fell like it has eliminated 90% of the reverse-to-drive clunk that I often get when the car is cold.
Racked my brain for about a year before I finally accidentally found this product. Ordered the medium 75d since my lady has a lift on her 17 Outback 2.5i Limited. New part store mount teamed with this was the right choice. It helped about 95% of the wobble. Think I may have something else adding to the issue possibly. You have the option of choosing between two harnesses - the 60d Soft and the 85D Medium. For everyday use, the 60d Soft hardness is the most commonly recommended choice. However, if you're looking to reduce more drivetrain movement, the 85D Medium harness may be a better fit for you, as it is stiffer for more performance applications. The stiffer 85d Medium may transmit more resonance in the vehicle.
